David Shrigley

I saw this collection at the 2012 Whitney Biennial.
The New Yorker blog describes David Shrigley's work as "rough-hewn illustrations with demented-yet-pungent aphorisms." They're referring to his 2-D paintings on paper, but the description fits all of his work. I first saw tattoos of his images on friends. And, yay, he's just been nominated for the Turner Prize.

Word Gate, powder-coated steel, 78-3/4 x 52-1/2 inches.

I'm Dead, taxidermy dog and sign, 27-1/2" high.
Face, glazed ceramic, 11-5/8 x 12-3/8 x 12-3/8 inches
