I am in Philadelphia with my daughter; in the next days, I'll be posting "wakes" of sensory celebration for and about him. We had nothing but fun; we were together almost exactly one year.

Ian Rodihan.
A departure from luminous trivia, to something that is luminous, but not trivial: my sweetheart Ian Rodihan died in his sleep early on Saturday, August 6th. He was a loving, generous, curious and amazingly intelligent person. I loved him to pieces. I am in a haze of grief.

Thank goodness this kind of loss does not happen every day; we would never survive it. My heart aches with you, Ellen. Take good care. Rebecca Maxim
ReplyDeleteHello Ellen,
ReplyDeleteI am a client and friend of Ian's and had not heard from him in several weeks. I finally did a general search. I am so very sad to hear this news. We just saw him. Its so shocking. I am very sorry for your loss as well as everyone who knew him. He was a unique person and I admired him greatly. AC Braddock
Dear AC Braddock: thank you for your kind words. I'm glad you located this info. If you'd like to be in touch at all, I love hearing Ian stories; it's very comforting. I'm at ellen@ellenziegler.com.
ReplyDeleteEllen,
ReplyDeleteI was very sad to happen upon this news. I worked with Ian when I lived in Seattle over a decade ago, and I must say I always found him to be a lovely man. I just started a new project in Washington and decided to do a Google search of Ian's name in the hopes that we could do more work together. Needless to say I was stunned at what I found. In any event I wanted to offer my condolences. He will be truly missed.

Dave: Thanks for your kind words. I'm so sorry you had to find out this way, although there's no good way to hear about the loss of someone as wonderful as Ian. Best to you, Ellen
ReplyDeleteI discovered this in January 2022. I miss him so.
