Mexican teachers' strike

On the way back from Ivan's, I saw the occupation of the largest square in Mexico by school teachers from 15 states and Mexico City. The 100,000-plus marchers clogged the already-clogged streets and marched to the Zócalo. An impressive show – they have been willing to talk with the government over issues that include the privatization of education (so people will have to pay for it and public school teachers will be out of work) but the government has not responded. Takin' it to the streets!
